Midjourney’s “chaos” mode generates more surreal and unexpected variations on an image prompt by exploring a wider range of creative possibilities. Chaos brings abstract artistry and imagination to Midjourney’s AI capabilities.

Steps to activate chaos mode in Midjourney:

      • When creating a new prompt, add “–chaos” after your prompt text. For example: “a turtle in the ocean –chaos”.

      • Alternatively, click on the “More” menu in the bottom left while creating your prompt.

      • In the “More” menu, toggle the “Chaos” switch on. This will enable chaos mode.

      • Adjust the chaos level using the chaos slider that appears. The levels range from “mild” to “extreme”.

      • Generate your images as normal. Midjourney will now explore more creative freedom in interpreting your prompt.

      • You can disable chaos mode again by toggling the “Chaos” switch off or removing “–chaos” from the prompt.

      • Experiment with different chaos levels and prompts to find a balance you like. Higher levels lead to more abstract results.

      Midjourney’s “chaos” feature:

      • Chaos mode is an option within Midjourney to generate more unexpected and surreal image variations.

      • When chaos mode is enabled, Midjourney explores a wider range of possibilities instead of focusing on a literal interpretation of the prompt.

      • The results are more unpredictable, unlocking Midjourney’s creativity. The images can have a more dreamlike, abstract, or even nonsensical style.

      • Chaos mode helps users prompt the AI in new ways to get more unique outputs compared to the default settings.

      • There are different chaos levels that can be set, such as “mild”, “medium”, or “extreme”. The higher levels produce more radical interpretations of the input.

      • Users sometimes gradually increase chaos to observe how the image changes and finds inspiration in the innovative results.

      • However, too high chaos levels can result in unrecognizable or excessively distorted images. There is a balance to find.

      • Chaos mode brings more artistic flair, imagination, and unexpected twists to Midjourney’s capabilities. It’s a valuable tool for prompting creative expression from the AI.
