If you’re looking to edit your photos in Figma and looking for a plugin that will work like photoshop then you need to checkout the Photopea plugin. Photopea is a free online graphic design editor that works directly in the browser. It has gained popularity for providing Photoshop-like features and interface without needing to install any software and now it is available as a Figma plugin.
Here are some key things to know about Photopea:
- Features – It provides tools for working with raster and vector graphics, including layers, selections, masks, filters, text tools, shape tools and more. The layout and keyboard shortcuts mimic Photoshop.
- File Support – It supports opening/editing Photoshop’s native PSD files as well as other standard formats like JPG, PNG, SVG, PDF, GIF etc.
- Advanced Capabilities – Photopea provides advanced capabilities like smart object support, layer styles, clipping masks and paths/pen tool. This makes it much more powerful than basic online editors.
- User Interface – The UI is designed to be very similar to Photoshop, making it easy for Photoshop users to switch to Photopea. Panels like layers, tools, adjustments etc. will look familiar.
- Online Only – Since it is fully online, you can use Photopea from any device with a browser. No downloads or installations needed. But it requires internet access to work.
- Free – Photopea is free to use with no restrictions. Commercial and business use is permitted. Optional paid plans add more cloud storage and features.
Photopea brings a Photoshop-esque pixel editing workflow to the web browser for free, and now Figma as a plugin. The combination of interface, features and PSD support make it popular for basic to intermediate graphics work online.
