Hello everyone,
I’m in the process of planning an e-commerce platform and would love to get some input on choosing the right tech stack from the community. I’m hoping to build a site that’s scalable, secure, and easy to maintain. At the same time, I want it to offer a smooth user experience for customers while being flexible enough for future expansion (like integrating AI-powered recommendations, advanced search functionalities, and a possible mobile app).
I’m trying to decide between a few different options, and I’d appreciate advice from those of you with experience in this area. Specifically, I’m considering whether to go with a traditional LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack, or to use a modern MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
Here are a few of my concerns:
Scalability: Which stack is better suited for handling potentially high volumes of traffic and data as the business grows?
Security: I’m prioritizing security from the start. How do these stacks compare in terms of built-in security features and support for adding layers of protection like SSL and firewalls?
Performance: In terms of speed and loading times, is one stack known for being more efficient than the other, particularly for e-commerce use?
Community Support: Which stack has more robust and reliable community support for troubleshooting and development resources?
Future-Proofing: I want to make sure the stack we choose remains viable as technology evolves over the next few years. Any thoughts on which is better for long-term growth?
Thanks in advance for your insights! Looking forward to hearing your recommendations and experiences.
