In a bold departure from their earlier grandiose speaker creation, Swedish audio artisans Nocs have unveiled their latest offering, the Nocs Mini. This meticulously crafted piece of auditory artistry pays homage to their musical roots while embracing a more compact and budget-friendly form.

Nocs’ Founder, Daniel Alm, elucidates the project’s mission, stating, “Our goal was to encapsulate the Nocs Studio’s sonic excellence in a smaller package. This endeavor came with its share of challenges, particularly in retaining robust bass within this petite frame. The solution was to opt for a subwoofer module with a passive radiator, a choice that bestows the Mini with its unique character.”

The pursuit of this distinctive character demanded a year of relentless research and development. Drawing upon the technical prowess of their larger Monolith audio system, the Mini is armed with a pair of Scan Speak drivers and fortified in the low-frequency domain by a custom-tuned subwoofer module. This dynamic duo, backed by a potent 110-watt Class-D amplifier, finds its home within a meticulously crafted CNC’ed MDF cabinet, measuring a mere 10.6 x 9 x 3.9 x 4.1 inches.

Despite its diminutive stature, the Nocs Mini promises an imposing presence when deployed in multiples. With support for connecting up to eight Minis for multi-room playback and wireless stereo configurations, users can mix and match setups, seamlessly integrating the original Monolith and its larger counterparts with one or a multitude of Minis, all harmonized through the intuitive Nocs app.

In a laudable nod to sustainability, Nocs has shifted its manufacturing from China back to its European roots, notably in Estonia, where a well-established speaker manufacturing industry thrives. Furthermore, the Mini’s design incorporates modular components, allowing for individual repair and upgrades while preserving its aesthetic integrity.

Detail-oriented audiophiles will appreciate the Sorbothane damping pads at the base, which mitigate unwanted vibrations even at the highest volumes, ensuring an audio experience that’s as refined as it is powerful.

Available for pre-order at a price of $750, the Nocs Mini will commence shipping in the first week of October. This diminutive marvel promises to be a captivating addition to the auditory landscape, offering both sonic excellence and a nod to sustainable craftsmanship.
