LG Unveils Two-Legged AI Robot for Smart Homes at CES 2024

LG Electronics has introduced a revolutionary two-legged smart home AI robot ahead of CES 2024, scheduled from January 9th to 12th. Designed as an autonomous household manager, this innovative creation navigates the home, seamlessly controlling appliances and devices. Part of LG’s Zero Labor Home vision, dedicated to enhancing user lives through electronic assistance, the unveiling of this advanced AI robot is a focal point of the brand’s mission at CES 2024.

This two-legged marvel effortlessly maneuvers around the house, equipped with a built-in camera, speaker, and an array of sensors for real-time environmental data collection, including temperature, humidity, and indoor air quality. Leveraging Qualcomm Technologies’ Robotics RB5 Platform, the robot boasts face and user recognition capabilities, empowering it to move independently and autonomously operate devices.

Not merely confined to household tasks, LG’s two-legged AI robot assumes the role of a home security guard. Utilizing advanced AI technology for real-time data analysis, it patrols unoccupied homes, sending notifications to users about open windows or lights left on. Additionally, its ability to control appliances independently ensures lights and unused devices are automatically switched off when the home is vacant.

LG envisions its two-legged AI robot as a multifaceted companion, extending its capabilities to pet care. Equipped with cameras and sensors, it detects unusual activities involving furry friends, sending timely alerts to owners. Upon users’ return home, the robot meets them at the front door, analyzing emotions through voice and facial expressions, and providing personalized information such as transportation details, weather updates, and reminders.

Beyond its physical tasks, the two-legged AI robot is designed to engage in complex conversations with users. Employing multi-modal technology, incorporating voice and image recognition, and natural language processing, the smart device comprehends context and intentions, actively communicating with users through verbal interactions, expressive movements, and electronic visual cues.
