LEGO enthusiasts and Marvel fans can finally rejoice as the long-anticipated LEGO Marvel set, rumored for quite some time, has been officially unveiled by the LEGO Group. The grand reveal introduces the 76269 Avengers Tower set, marking it as the largest Marvel-themed set ever released and a groundbreaking achievement as the first modern set to feature a total of 31 minifigures. Scheduled for launch on November 24, this monumental creation comes with a price tag of $500.
To sweeten the deal for early adopters, those purchasing the set between November 24 and November 27 will receive the exclusive LEGO Marvel Taxi gift. This bonus includes a New York taxi, a taxi driver minifigure, along with Black Panther and Outrider minifigs.
Crafted in celebration of the 60th anniversary of The Avengers, this LEGO set stands tall, securing its place among the tallest sets when fully assembled. Surpassing the height of the 76178 Daily Bugle set, it measures an impressive 35.5 inches. Upon closer inspection, the set showcases iconic elements like the Quinjet, Leviathan, and two Chitauri flyers from the 2012 Avengers Assemble. Delving into the interior, scenes from the Infinity Saga, the Age of Ultron party, and Endgame are vividly depicted.
The minds behind this marvel (no pun intended) belong to the LEGO Group’s talented designers. Speaking of the minifigures, the roster boasts familiar faces such as Tony Stark, Iron Man MK7, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, Loki, Hulk, and even Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, among many others. Notably absent, however, is the Quicksilver minifig, leaving fans curious. The set also includes the brick-built Dum-E, although curiously, there is no mention of it in the official press release.
Adding to the set’s appeal, it features a removable roof and side panels, allowing builders to recreate scenes on individual floors and inject variety into the display. At the pinnacle of the structure, the Quinjet and Lego Chariot can be constructed and attached to the tower, while the Leviathan stands imposingly outside. For those who have previously invested in smaller Marvel sets like the Daily Bugle and Sanctum Sanctorum, the baseplate (32 stud) of this colossal set provides the opportunity to seamlessly integrate them, forming a breathtaking diorama. The LEGO Marvel 76269 Avengers Tower set promises not just a playtime delight but a collector’s dream for fans of both LEGO and the Marvel universe.
