Ikea aims to bring harmony to the gamer’s abode with its new BRÄNNBOLL furniture collection. A departure from the typical dark, neon-drenched aesthetic, these 20 versatile pieces blend gaming needs with modern home design.
Rather than the usual blacks and bold colours, BRÄNNBOLL draws inspiration from athleisure and street sports fashion. Product design developer Philip Dilé says the goal was “making it simple for people to create spaces that adapt to gaming, living, and everything in between.” Neutral tones are balanced with pops of bright hue, allowing the furniture to seamlessly mix with existing decor.
Central to the collection is flexible, multi-purpose seating. An armchair unfurls into a lounger for intense gaming sessions. A rocking chair offers casual comfort. Even an inflatable donut seat gets its own footstool for kicked-back play.
Perhaps the line’s pièce de résistance is the gaming desk that folds away into an unassuming cabinet. Hidden within are a slide-out tabletop, cable management, PC tower storage and display shelving. It’s a genius middle ground for those who don’t want a garish gaming nook dominating their living space.
Thoughtful touches abound, from a rollable side table for gear to textile accessories like a gaming mousepad and throw blanket. Ikea has even included wall-mounted shelves to proudly display gaming collectibles and merchandise.
With BRÄNNBOLL, Ikea brings an inclusive, design-forward vision to the gaming furniture realm. The collection launches in September, providing gamers a stylish way to integrate their pastime into the modern home.
