A striking new landmark is set to grace the skyline of Hollywood, Los Angeles with the unveiling of revised designs for “The Star” – a $1 billion vertical creative office campus envisioned by the renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners.
Conceived as a dynamic, spiraling tower on a two-acre lot at 6061 W. Sunset Boulevard, The Star is being developed by The Star LLC with the aim of introducing a hub for Hollywood’s top content creators. The brainchild of architect Norman Foster, the building’s form is a true reflection of the “workplace of the future,” blending indoor and outdoor workspaces to nurture creativity and collaboration.
At the heart of the design lies a lush, spiraling garden that will climb from street level all the way up to the rooftop restaurant, offering occupants a verdant oasis amidst the urban sprawl. Spacious floor plates, expansive outdoor areas, and floor-to-ceiling windows will provide 360-degree views of the iconic Hollywood Sign, the cityscape, and the Pacific coast beyond.
“The Star embodies the spirit of Hollywood,” says Nigel Dancey, who is leading the design team at Foster + Partners. “Not only does it offer breathtaking views, but it also prioritizes natural light and ventilation, creating a healthy and productive work environment for its tenants.”
Patrick Campbell, Senior Partner at Foster + Partners, emphasizes the project’s focus on sustainability, stating, “Cascading gardens and natural light create a healthy and highly productive working environment.”
Beyond its core office space, The Star aims to become an integrated part of the Hollywood scene, with a walkable area at street level featuring an expansive LED screen, inviting restaurants, community spaces, a theater, and a gallery.
Both Maggie Miracle, CEO of The Star LLC, and architect Norman Foster emphasize the project’s vision of fostering a vibrant creative community in Hollywood, blurring the lines between work and leisure in a truly innovative way.
