Oscar Olsson has a cool idea called Disco Volante, a wall-mounted turntable. It’s a space-saving record player that folds down. The design combines looks and practicality, with a colored bar for the tonearm and a steel frame.
Disco Volante works automatically. You put a vinyl record on the platter, press buttons on the bar, and the needle lowers onto the record. There’s an elastic string to hold the vinyl in place. When the music ends, you can fold the platter back against the wall. The speaker locations are a mystery for now.
Olsson wanted Disco Volante to stand out. The bar can come in different colors like green or yellow. The steel frame gives it a strong base for being on the wall.
Olsson mixed the vibrant tonearm housing with the steel body for a fun contrast. He thought a lot about the design to make it look good. There’s no news yet on when Disco Volante will be made.
