With a profound respect for the stringent guidelines established by environmental authorities, Studio MK27 has birthed an architectural marvel that not only respects but reveres the vibrant, verdant forest enveloping it.

At first glance, Casa Azul appears to hover delicately above the landscape, seemingly weightless and ethereal. This enchanting illusion is partly due to its elevation upon sturdy pilotis. Beneath the structure lies a substantial wooden deck that seamlessly extends from the home, mimicking the forest’s own organic contours. The home’s curvaceous form takes inspiration from the artistic legacy of landscape architect Roberto Burle-Marx.

Casa Azul’s structure consists of two imposing volumes, appearing to float amidst the verdant canopy like modernist mirages. These staggered volumes offer both respite from the sun’s embrace and a connection to the breathtaking surroundings. The lower volume reveals sliding glass walls, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor realms when opened. Above, the upper level nestles serenely among the treetops, its rooms adorned with wooden grid panels that gently filter the natural light. This elevated haven also hosts an inviting pool, dappled by sunlight, yet in perfect equilibrium with the encompassing landscape.
