We’ve got something special for you today – a dirt bike that’s actually easy on the eyes for a change. No more of those rugged, industrial monstrosities that look like they were designed by the bloomin’Terminator. This bad boy is the X Tecnica from Enrico Balsamo, and it’s a masterclass in how to make an off-road weapon look absolutely gorgeous.
Now Balsamo’s a clever bloke. He knows most bikes these days are either so dull they’d put you to sleep or so over-the-top they belong in a art gallery, not on the trails. With the X Tecnica, he’s struck a brilliant balance between wind-in-your-hair thrills and wind-in-your-hair style.
The magic starts with that stonking aluminum frame, subframe and swingarm. Rather than just chunks of boring metal, they’re machined to within an inch of their lives into an edgy, almost alien design. And that electric blue paint job? Woof… it’ll have your pupils dilating before you even start the engine.
But Balsamo doesn’t stop there, oh no. The fuel tank, front mudguard and headlight housing are all made from nylon plastic in that same hypnotic blue. Proper telepod stuff. He’s even added splashes of orange because, well, who doesn’t love a bit of the old Gulf heritage racing livery?
It all combines into something that looks brutally purposeful yet utterly stylish. From the front brake calipers to the see-through panels on the crash bars, every detail screams quality. This is one dirt bike you’d be proud to rock up to the cafe on.
The best bit? Underneath all that sci-fi panelling is a proper off-road weapon just waiting to be unleashed. Dodging boulders and leaping over logs has never looked so bloomin’ good!
