Renault has made waves at the Geneva International Motor Show 2024 with the unveiling of ‘5 Movements,’ an innovative electric series featuring a snow bike, foldable sailboat, jet ski, surfboard with electric hydrofoil, and bicycle motocross. Representing a fusion of automotive ingenuity and ecological consciousness, Renault’s 5 Movements project is a collaborative endeavor with five pioneering French startups in the mobility sector.
Partnering with the esteemed agency TheArsenale for the grand reveal, Renault’s latest venture embodies the essence of nature’s elements: earth, water, air, and snow.
Foldable Sailboat and Premier Bicycle Motocross
Leading the charge in Renault’s 5 Movements initiative is Antoine Simon’s Reverso, the foldable sailboat designed for versatility and practicality. With its stable, rigid hull capable of accommodating up to 180 kilos, the Reverso is equally suited for solo excursions or family outings. Its modular design allows for effortless dismantling into four independent floating sections, ensuring seamless transitions from water to land.
Meanwhile, Olivier LeQuellec’s Evol Bike marks Renault’s foray into electric bicycle motocross, boasting a powerful 500-watt motor capable of speeds exceeding 45 km/h. A collaborative effort between Renault, Le Quellec, and renowned architect Vincent Coste, the Evol Bike exemplifies the spirit of innovation driving the 5 Movements project.
Electric Snow Bike, Jet Ski, and Surfboard with E-Foil
For enthusiasts of winter sports, Nicolas Muron’s Moonbike takes center stage as the inaugural electric snow bike in Renault’s lineup. Offering riders exhilarating speeds of up to 40 km/h and three hours of autonomous riding, the Moonbike’s lightweight and maneuverable design promises unforgettable adventures on snowy terrain.
Water enthusiasts, on the other hand, will find solace in Renault’s offerings tailored to aquatic pursuits. Flavien Neyertz’s Searacer, an electric jet ski equipped with a high-density motor, caters to both seasoned athletes and novice riders alike. With a top speed of 77 km/h and a range of up to two hours, the Searacer is engineered for performance and reliability, reflecting Renault’s commitment to excellence.
Completing the aquatic ensemble is Loic Deltour’s Plume, a surfboard featuring an electric hydrofoil for enhanced maneuverability and speed. Weighing less than 30 kilos, the Plume can effortlessly cruise at speeds of up to 35 km/h and take off at 15 km/h, ensuring an exhilarating surfing experience with up to 1.5 hours of autonomy and a range of two hours.
