In a dazzling debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023, Pershing, a prominent brand under the Ferretti Group umbrella, has achieved an unprecedented milestone in maritime luxury. The Pershing GTX116, a pioneering sport-utility yacht, has redefined the concept of seafaring opulence with its innovative design, cutting-edge technology, and exquisite modern interiors. Notably, this remarkable vessel marks the inaugural use of 3D printing technology for the creation of ventilation grills and the windshield visor.
Sporting a sleek Montecarlo gray exterior, a nod to its Gran Turismo influences, the 35-meter GTX116 was meticulously crafted at the Ferretti Group Plug and Mould facility. This exceptional creation is the fruit of a collaborative effort involving the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee, led by Piero Ferrari, the design genius Fulvio De Simoni, and the Group’s Engineering Department.
A Haven of Luxury Afloat
Pershing’s GTX116 offers sprawling spaces capable of hosting up to 10 guests, thanks to its innovative five-cabin layout (complemented by three additional cabins for a dedicated crew of five). The interiors, designed by Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, boast a harmonious blend of dark wood accents in vertical elements and serene pale color tones on the ceilings. Eucalyptus wood furnishings, complete with a grain pattern that accentuates its chiaroscuro effect, grace the living areas of this sport-utility yacht.
The main deck unfolds over two levels, revealing a beach club on the lower floor, accessed via an extended stern platform and a separate sundeck. Ascending to the upper level, passengers are greeted by a spacious cockpit with panoramic views, leading to the main saloon that seems to merge seamlessly with the water. The saloon’s capacious living area features plush armchairs and an L-shaped sofa, nestled beside a sliding door that opens onto a waterside terrace.
Towards the aft, an inviting dining area awaits, accommodating up to ten diners. The galley boasts a transformative design, offering the owner the flexibility to convert it into either a bar counter or a show kitchen. The helm station, with dual entrances, is a masterclass in luxury, enveloped by a windshield that spans the entire breadth of the superstructure. Black leather upholstery and a carbon fiber pilot seat dominate the helm station’s interior, featuring ultrawide screens for high-precision navigation.
Luxury Below Deck
Descending to the lower deck, guests will find the stern garage, capable of housing a jet tender and jet ski, with a concealed crane facilitating the effortless transfer of watercraft in and out of the azure waters. The accommodation quarters include two double cabins, two twin cabins, and a commodious owner’s cabin spanning the entire beam, all featuring private bathrooms (an additional bathroom is discreetly located on the main stairway). The dedicated crew area is equally well-appointed, boasting a pantry, laundry facilities, and three cabins.
The Sportbridge Marvel
A notable feature of the Pershing GTX116 is its groundbreaking sportbridge, an expansive deck covering over 40 square meters, partially sheltered by a hardtop. This impressive space incorporates a fully equipped bar area seamlessly integrated into the main structure. Despite the challenge of fitting these components into an already generous sport-utility yacht, the design team managed to house a triple waterjet propulsion system in the engine room, creating more room for the garage and beach area.
For those enamored with technical specifications, the Pershing GTX116 boasts a triple waterjet propulsion system, which can be coupled with three MAN V12 2000 engines, optionally rated at 2,000 mhp, enabling a top speed of 34 knots and a cruising speed of 29 knots. The standard configuration features three MAN V12 1800 units rated at 1,800 mhp, and the yacht proudly carries a RINA Class Certificate for Pleasure Yachts.
Intriguingly, Pershing’s GTX116 has seamlessly merged cutting-edge technology with timeless luxury, setting a new standard in the world of sport-utility yachts. This stunning creation has left maritime enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike eagerly awaiting the dawn of a new era in seafaring opulence.
