In the world of watch aficionados, there’s a shared passion for motorsports, and the unveiling of Ollech & Wajs’ latest creation, the Rallychron, is sure to ignite a fervent response. Designed with a vintage aesthetic that speaks directly to the racing enthusiast’s heart, this timepiece pays homage to the legendary race tracks that have left an indelible mark on history, meticulously etched into its custom bezel.
At the heart of the Rallychron lies its standout feature: a 39.5mm stainless steel case housing a bezel adorned with the iconic circuits that have borne witness to some of racing’s most unforgettable moments. From the narrow, winding streets of Monaco to the high-speed straights of Monza and the hallowed grounds of Le Mans, each circuit is immortalized with markings denoting hypothetical “perfect laps” from the golden era of the 1960s.
Collaborating with Hervé Charbonneaux, a revered figure in the world of classic cars, rally driving, and literature, Ollech & Wajs have imbued the Rallychron with a distinct character. While the lap times represented on the bezel may not serve a functional purpose, they undoubtedly add to the watch’s allure, sparking conversations among racing enthusiasts at first glance.
Beneath the striking black PVD-coated bezel, the Rallychron boasts a robust 15.3mm thickness and features a gray dial accentuated by checkered baton hands—a nod to its motorsport heritage. The dial is equipped with three chronograph registers for small seconds, a 30-minute timer, and a 12-hour timer, alongside a discreet date window positioned at 6 o’clock.
In a color palette of gray, black, and hints of orange, the Rallychron houses an automatic Valjoux 7753 chronograph OW Precision 5 movement, delivering an impressive 54-hour power reserve. With a water resistance of 300m, this timepiece offers both style and functionality.
Available with a choice of a racing-inspired black leather strap or a sleek M-Heritage stainless steel mesh bracelet, the Rallychron is poised to make a statement on the wrist. Pricing for this exceptional timepiece starts at $2,650 with the leather strap option, while the steel bracelet variant is priced at $2,793. Set to hit the shelves on March 30, 2024, the Ollech & Wajs Rallychron invites enthusiasts to embark on a journey through racing history with every glance at their wrist.
