Morgan Motor Company and Pininfarina S.p.A. teamed up to create the Midsummer, an open-top roadster inspired by European barchettas. The car features hand-formed wooden interiors and sleek aluminum body panels, capturing the essence of summer days and nights.

For the first time, Morgan revealed the wooden craftsmanship within its frames, showcasing a distinctive shoulder line around the cockpit. The cabin boasts intricately laminated teak wood, with the dashboard alone having 126 layers. Each section requires over 30 hours of craftsmanship, highlighting the artisanal skill behind the vehicle.

The Midsummer’s design pays homage to classic Pininfarina aesthetics from the late 1930s and early 1940s. The car incorporates aerodynamic enhancements, lightweight wheels, and high-performance tires, setting a new standard for future Morgan models.

Design elements like hand-formed lower sills, new headlights, and a redesigned grille improve the car’s aerodynamics. The elongated tail proudly bears a unique badge, symbolizing the collaboration between the two brands.

Under the bonnet, ‘piano key’ style vents replace traditional louvers to vent engine heat efficiently. The car’s analogue dials, warm wooden cabin, off-white hue, aluminum steering wheel, and Sennheiser audio system add modern touches to the classic design.

Despite its luxury features, the Midsummer weighs only 1,000 kilos due to its handcrafted aluminum body panels. With production limited to 50 units, all pre-sold, the Midsummer marks a milestone in Morgan’s history. The car will debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, with production starting later that year.

This collaboration celebrates both brands’ heritage, offering a unique collector’s item.
