Luxury yacht manufacturer Mayla has officially introduced its latest marvel, the GT—an extraordinary all-carbon-fiber superboat showcased during the Düsseldorf International Boat Show, held from January 20th to 28th, 2024. Embodying a sleek and modern design, the GT pays homage to the high-speed boats of the ’70s and ’80s, showcasing a sharply pointed V monohull that sets it apart.
Mayla’s inspiration for the carbon-fiber superboat stems from the world of racing powerboats rather than conventional distance cruisers. The exterior boasts stark lines, reminiscent of racing vessels, while the interior follows suit with a minimalist approach, paving the way for opulent-leaning design in its spacious cabin.
The GT’s hydrodynamic efficiency is enhanced by the incorporation of twin transversal steps and patented Petestep deflectors, designed by the Swedish engineering office Petestep. These deflectors ingeniously redirect spray under the hull, generating additional lift, increasing fuel efficiency, and providing a smooth and quiet ride even at high speeds.
Crafted entirely from carbon fiber, the superboat adheres to automotive industry standards with millimeter-level precision, ensuring both lightness and robustness. This material composition, combined with the innovative design, allows the Mayla GT to achieve higher top speeds with the same power, thanks to the transversal steps creating pockets of air under the hull.
Inside the cabin, Mayla GT offers a luxurious experience for up to eight passengers. The spacious interior features a double bed, Alcantara textile-clad furniture, a wardrobe, a vanity area, and high-tech entertainment amenities such as TV screens and a premium audio system. The open cockpit area provides sliding sun loungers, shock-absorbing helm seats, and a wet bar, barbecue, foldaway table, and ample storage for those who wish to entertain or host a party.
For nighttime sailing, the underwater light system illuminates the surroundings, while the premium sound system in the open cockpit area adds entertainment possibilities, from a mini-outdoor cinema to a DJ table. Air conditioning and the Seakeeper ride vessel control system, a gyroscopic stabilizer, ensure comfort and stability in various cruising conditions.
Mayla plans to conduct sea trials with the carbon-fiber superboat GT starting in Spring 2024, promising a new era of high-performance and luxurious sea cruising.
