Make It Extreme, the creators of the single-tire mini motorbike, have revealed their new custom vehicle: a life-sized electric monowheel. This time, they replaced the gas engine with an electric one.
The building process went smoother this time due to their past experience. They started by making a large metallic frame, shaped into a perfect circle like a circus wheel. To cushion the wheel, they used tires from a motorcycle and go-kart, cutting and merging three tires to fit the frame.
Next, they mounted the cushioned wheel on a chassis with three rollers and black plastic for smooth spinning. The power comes from two go-kart motors known for their traction and non-slip properties. These motors, controlled by a dual-controller system, ensure the monowheel rotates smoothly.
The team finds driving this vehicle exhilarating, despite the risks. The new electric monowheel has a more powerful motor than its smaller counterpart, providing greater torque and speed.
Make It Extreme is finalizing plans for this electric monowheel, with the goal of allowing enthusiasts to build their own. Their innovative use of motorcycle and go-kart tires continues to push the boundaries of custom vehicle design.
