The Lotus Emeya represents a bold change for the iconic British brand, famous for its agile two-seaters. This four-door hyper-GT blends 75 years of Lotus heritage with a modern, eco-friendly twist. Its roots go back to a 1980 concept by Paolo Martin, known for his work with Pininfarina. The Emeya’s design, led by Lotus Group’s VP of Design Ben Payne, features a low, cab-forward silhouette with short overhangs, giving it a fierce yet elegant look.

The Emeya’s design is characterized by its ‘hyperstance’ proportions. It sits low, with a cab-forward profile and muscular arches reminiscent of classic Lotus models. The darkened canopy reduces visual weight, while clean surfaces and sleek lines highlight its dynamic shape. The rear boasts an ultra-narrow LED light bar and a unique dual air wing spoiler, reminiscent of Lotus’s 1980s mid-engined designs.

Inside, the Emeya offers a high-tech, luxurious feel. A continuous LED strip creates a cozy atmosphere, with a 15.1-inch OLED touchscreen dominating the center console. The cockpit is driver-centric, with well-placed controls and lightweight materials like knurled metal and exposed carbon fiber. Luxury details include repurposed fibers from the fashion industry, showcasing Lotus’s dedication to performance and sustainability.

The Emeya’s electric performance is unmatched. With an 800-volt, 102 kWh lithium-ion battery, it goes from 0-62mph in under 2.8 seconds and tops 155mph. Its systems process data rapidly, providing 360-degree perception and exceptional road feedback. Four deployable LiDARs aid in navigation and obstacle detection, while electronically controlled air suspension ensures a smooth ride. Charging is quick, going from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes with a 350kW DC fast charger. The low battery placement enhances agility on winding roads.
