In the crucible of Audi’s innovation hub, an extraordinary project has unfurled, a fusion of tradition and cutting-edge ingenuity. Behold, the Audi RS 6 Avant GT, a canvas where the echoes of yesteryear harmonize with the whispers of tomorrow. This journey of design commenced with a daring vision: the 2020 RS 6 GTO concept, born from the fertile minds of a dozen apprentices spanning diverse disciplines, all under the watchful eye of Audi Design.

Meet Juergen Loeffler, the Exterior Designer extraordinaire at Audi. Drawing from the deep wells of history, these apprentices channeled the relentless spirit of the 1989 Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car. Their six-month odyssey transcended mere automotive design; it was a dialogue between epochs, a reimagining of automotive essence.

The Audi RS 6 Avant GT emerges as a sculpted marvel, a testament to its lineage yet boldly embracing the future. Its design speaks volumes of potency and poise, with a front fascia that demands reverence. The glossy black Singleframe grille and menacing air intakes carve a visage both lower and wider, paying homage to its racing heritage. Introducing vertical blades, a novel intake grille, and a front splitter seamlessly integrated into the bumper, sharpening its predatory silhouette.

Audi Sport embarks on uncharted territory with a carbon fiber redesigned hood, emphasizing the RS 6 Avant GT’s distinct identity. This hood isn’t just a component; it’s a statement, its carbon weave a spectacle accentuated by the body color. Intelligently placed air outlets behind the 22-inch wheels marry aesthetics with aerodynamics.

The car’s flanks boast carbon fiber fenders housing bespoke wheels, exemplifying Audi’s commitment to innovation and artistry. Glossy carbon inserts and mirrors adorn the side profile alongside the exclusive 6-spoke wheels, unique to this model.

At the rear, the RS 6 Avant GT proudly bears its “RS 6 GT” insignia, accompanied by a tailgate seamlessly melding into the car’s form, a functional diffuser, and a motorsport-inspired double wing, a direct homage to the apprentices’ concept.

For the first time, the RS 6 Avant sheds its roof rails, crafting a sleeker, more streamlined profile hinting at speed even when stationary.

The RS 6 Avant GT’s palette of options pays homage to Audi Sport’s legacy, offering striking decal schemes echoing the brand’s racing heritage. Whether it’s the bold contrast of Arkona White against vibrant decals or the understated elegance of Nardo Grey or Mythos Black, each choice is a declaration of individuality.

Step inside, and the RS 6 Avant GT is a study in simplicity, with the RS design package taking center stage. Black interiors are punctuated by red and copper accents, weaving a vibrant tapestry across the steering wheel, center console, and luxurious RS bucket seats. Meticulous stitching in Express Red and Copper tells a tale of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Dinamica microfiber adorns every surface, from the armrests to the dashboard, offering a glimpse into the future of luxury materials. Optional open-pore carbon twill inlays bring the exterior’s carbon motif into the cabin.

Each RS 6 Avant GT is a piece of history, bearing a unique serial number in a limited series of 660, a testament to Audi’s dedication to exclusivity and passion for design.

More than a car, the RS 6 Avant GT is a symbol of youthful creativity, bridging generations while embodying Audi’s design legacy and future aspirations. Crafted with care, every line, curve, and stitch narrates a tale of innovation, heritage, and an unwavering quest for perfection.

Under the hood, the RS 6 Avant GT ramps up performance with a staggering power output of 463 kW (630 PS) and torque of 850 Nm, eclipsing its base model counterpart by 22 kW (30 PS) and 50 Nm. This translates to a blistering acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.3 seconds, 0.3 seconds quicker than the base model, and hitting 200 km/h in 11.5 seconds, 1.5 seconds faster. Top speed is electronically limited to 305 km/h (190mph). Standard RS ceramic brakes ensure effective deceleration.

Power from the 4.0 TFSI engine is channeled through an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox to the quattro all-wheel-drive system, featuring an optimized center differential for enhanced handling and reduced understeer.

The RS 6 Avant GT also benefits from a specially tuned quattro sport differential for the rear axle, elevating agility and precision, particularly in dynamic driving scenarios. Standard adjustable coilover suspension lowers the ride height by ten millimeters compared to the base model, striking a balance between dynamic driving and comfort. The suspension setup includes higher spring rates, triple-adjustable dampers, and stiffer stabilizers to minimize body roll and maximize driving pleasure. Customers have the option to choose between this setup, the RS sport suspension plus Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), or the RS adaptive air suspension.
