Belin Design Office unveiled two new electric motorcycles that focus on circular design principles and sustainability. The Ekka M-1 Performance and CS-1 City Scooter models share a simple design and eco-friendly production methods.
These motorcycles have a unique look, different from traditional ones that hide frames with plastic panels. By using aluminum bending instead of energy-intensive hot-forming, the design reduces carbon footprints and gives a futuristic appearance.
The M-1 model offers a fun cafe racer-style experience, inspired by Jean-Marie Floch’s ‘Ludic’ concept. Its sleek silhouette exposes side panels, cleverly concealing the battery for better aerodynamics. On the other hand, the CS-1 scooter focuses on practicality for urban use, with the battery placed under the rider’s feet to maximize storage space.
Both models have in-wheel motors, eliminating the need for chains, belts, clutches, and transmissions. This simplification reduces weight, maintenance, and improves efficiency for a smoother ride and longer range on a single charge.
Belin Design Office’s Ekka motorcycles are a step towards sustainable and efficient electric transportation, setting new standards for electric motorcycles.
