Prepare to be thrilled as CALLUM, the design and engineering maestros, unveil their latest creation – the SKYE. This high-performance, multi-terrain concept electric car marks CALLUM’s foray into crafting their own electric vehicles, promising a blend of on- and off-road excitement for the adventurous at heart.
Designed and engineered entirely in-house, SKYE is a revelation in electric mobility. Whether you crave the twists of meandering roads, the challenge of grassy paddocks, the crunch of gravel tracks, the serenity of pristine sand, the allure of muddy paths, or the tranquility of snow-clad landscapes, CALLUM’s SKYE is your all-access pass to exploration.
ENCLOSED OPULENCE, QUIET DOMINANCE
Step into SKYE’s fully enclosed cabin, a sanctuary designed to keep external noise and elements at bay. Not only does this cabin exude luxury, but it also boasts a remarkable ability to silence the world outside, proving that electric can be not just efficient but serene. Whisper-quiet, SKYE stands as a testament to the hushed prowess of electric power over traditional combustion engines.
The SKYE team, based in the UK and Europe, is hard at work refining the engineering of this multi-terrain marvel. Spring 2024 promises a revelation of SKYE’s features and specialized versions tailored for specific on- or off-road preferences.
SEAMLESS ACCOMMODATION FOR FOUR
Pop the top on SKYE’s fully enclosed cabin, revealing a two by two layout that effortlessly accommodates four individuals. At four meters in length, SKYE strikes a balance between spaciousness and agility, making it a joy to drive. Ian Callum, the design virtuoso behind SKYE, infuses the exterior with distinction, featuring a prominent accent loop, robust horizontal structure, and organic shapes at both ends. The design philosophy? Minimalistic and understated, letting the style speak for itself.
TRANSCENDENT VISIBILITY AND OFF-ROAD MIGHT
A unique feature of SKYE is the integrated glass in the lower section of the doors, providing sharp visibility across diverse conditions. The rugged space-frame chassis, tailored for off-road prowess, coupled with a trail-ready suspension system, ensures optimal ground clearance for various terrains.
For the tech enthusiasts, SKYE draws power from a 42kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering an impressive range of approximately 170 miles on a full charge. Owners have the option to upgrade to an advanced battery for ultra-fast charging, boasting a full charge in less than ten minutes.
PERFORMANCE WITH PURPOSE
Weighing in at a targeted 1,150 kilos, SKYE embraces a lightweight design philosophy. With a perfectly balanced 50/50 weight distribution, this electric marvel is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under four seconds. Adam Donfrancesco, the head of engineering at CALLUM, emphasizes the team’s commitment to creating a vehicle that is not just unique and versatile but also durable.
CALLUM invites enthusiasts to register their interest in the SKYE on their website, offering a chance to be part of the electric adventure that awaits. Brace yourself for the revolution – SKYE is coming.
