Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled a pair of ultra-exclusive electric hypercars that blend sci-fi fantasy with eco-conscious reality. In a collaboration with Warner Bros and DC Comics, the Italian marque has reimagined Bruce Wayne’s vehicular fantasies for the sustainable age.
The limited-edition models come in two distinct guises – ‘Gotham’ and ‘Dark Knight’ – channeling both the day and night personas of Gotham City’s billionaire vigilante. While sharing cutting-edge electric powertrains, their aesthetic philosophies are worlds apart.
The ‘Gotham’ cars exude refined luxury with tan leather interiors and polished silver bodywork, reflecting Wayne’s public face. In contrast, the ‘Dark Knight’ variants cut an intimidating figure – menacing matte blacks, brooding Alcantara cabins, and sharp, aggressive lines that seem plucked from Batman’s weaponized arsenal.
Both versions feature bespoke design flourishes inspired by the source material, from Wayne Enterprises logos to voiceovers by a virtual ‘Alfred’. The top-spec Battista hyper GT, limited to just 150 units, is the world’s first all-electric hypercar – a 1,900hp leviathan capable of 0-60mph in under 1.9 seconds yet producing zero emissions.
While stratospheric prices will restrict ownership to a rarified few, the cars represent an intriguing confluence of fictional fantasy and tangible, sustainable transportation solutions. As the world grapples with climate crisis realities, Automobili Pininfarina is betting there’s an eco-conscious superhero slumbering in all of us.
