Airbnb Takes You on a Magical Journey to Pixar’s Up House

Located amidst the breathtaking red rocks of Abiquiu, New Mexico, this detailed copy of the Up House boasts over 8,000 balloons and, according to Airbnb, it truly does float. This immersive experience is part of a lineup that includes other iconic destinations such as the Ferrari Museum, the X-Men Mansion, and the Musée d’Orsay, among others.

Celebrating 15 Years of Up

To mark the 15th anniversary of the film Up, Airbnb has brought Carl and Ellie’s house to life in stunning detail. The recreation captures the cozy atmosphere and playful charm of the movie, complete with numerous Easter eggs from the animation. Guests can discover photos of Carl and his wife Ellie on the walls, their cherished Adventure Book, Russell’s trusty backpack, Dug’s cozy bed, and many more nostalgic touches. The house invites visitors to engage in a range of activities designed to immerse them in the spirit of the film, from simple pleasures like tending to Carl’s mail and preparing a picnic kit to more adventurous pursuits like wilderness excursions and stargazing under the night sky.

Carl Fredricksen, the main character of Up, serves as the host of the residence, inviting guests to partake in the experience. “My greatest adventures have happened here, and I learned that the best ones are always with someone you love, so bring your pals to kickstart your very own Adventure Book and watch as my house drifts off before you depart,” he says.

Fans of the Up movie can apply to stay in the balloon-topped house by filling out their preferred dates, indicating the number of guests (up to 4), and sharing their reasons for wanting to experience this unique adventure. Airbnb will review all submissions and select lucky participants to finalize their bookings.
